Semplicemene incredibile grazie per il Vostro Lavoro, gioco fatto bene è riduttivo, ne aspetto volentieri di nuovi...

Hello! The game have issues on C64 with Ultimate-II+ cartridge.
Background music is not playing, and jump doesn't work (sometimes work when hitting "down"). Have you tested it on Ultimate-II+?

(2 edits)

Confirm this

v1.02
Jump - Direction UP works on my U2+ but Fire2(potX) doesn't.
On 1.0 and 1.01 it worked.
No problem on Vice.

Hi. Up doesn't work, also background music doesn't play (just some noise).
Are you running file from the browser normally, or using EFIII as kernal?

I haven't noticed any sound problems. Real and emulated SIDs plays music.
Running from the browser

Okay so now i see what was the issue. "UP" doesn't work when mouse 1351 is connected to port 1. Problem solved, but consider to fix that in next patch.

(1 edit)

Hmm.. 1351 mouse uses potX/potY, and they are "common" for port1 and port2. The game uses potX/Y for additional Fire on Joystick port 2. (Fire 2 = Jump/UP)

Is it a game problem or more hardware problem..

Maybe you can't have a mouse plugged in and use the program (driver) for the Joystick with three Fire buttons at the same time.

Maybe the Joyride program from CSDB is able to test this.

Just out of curiosity, where can I download the EFIII kernal?

congrats on this fantastic achievement! truly a masterpiece of a game.

it's a very tough game.

Grazie ragazzi!! se continuo a giocare (e soprattutto a divertirmi ancora) è grazie a gente come voi!

Truffle hunt :D

Impossible direction on real Joystick.
Vice, Keyboard.
Hold [DOWN] then [UP] together.
Search for truffles (left/right) ;)))

That's what that big nose is for! :-)

LOL! :D

Something strange. I downloaded v1.02 but I don't see any difference from v1.01

Besides the fact that the F1 key doesn't pause, it did in 1.0 and 1.01.
The F2 key now does UP/Jump

I downloaded it again and it's better

I think it was downloading the old 1.01 version despite the number being 1.02. Some kind of delay on itch.io or something

I have save issues too. I've played the first level on the U64 board using a real EF3 cartridge, in normal difficulty.  REU is disabled in the U64 menu.  But nothing was saved after level 1. Any hints?

Not sure about that. I have tried multiple EF carts to test and they all worked, but on a real c64.

Also save has been reported to work on the U64 but with the emulated EF.

I'll try to investigate the issue sourcing a similar configuration and I'll keep you posted.

In the meantime have you tried emulating the ef with the U64?

(1 edit) (+1)

You can stop to investigate. I didn't knew that the game only saves the level progess after dying. Thought it would save  automatically somewhere between the end of a level/start of the next level.

Nice catch man. I was also wondering why it doesn't unlock access to the discovered level every time.

Is that the board of the new stage flashed? I didn't touch any keys or Joystick during this time.

Should LV2 be available from the game menu from this point on?
Because LV2 was not unlocked in the menu.

Playing on Easymode v1.01, Vice emulator 3.7.1 Windows7

I had the same on the 1541Ultimate2+ C64 PAL

On easy mode the levels are not unlocked. If you select easy mode and wait a bit in the difficulty selection menu, you get a scroller that tells you what each difficulty level does (and doesn't).
On normal difficulty the progress is saved, but mind you that it is still not the case if you are using a REU emulation in VICE, because the REU deactivates the saving capabilities of the Easyflah device.
Noticed the screen flashing issue on that configuration and I managed to reproduce it (key buffering glitch). It'll be fixed in the upcoming build. Thanks a lot!

Great, waiting for the update. I will play in normal mode from now on without REU :) Thanks for the extensive explanation.

(+1)

Thanks! Version 1.02 is uploaded. Please download again

(+1)

All right, the new level skipping the splash screen issue has been fixed. You can download the new version, apologies for the problem and thanks for your feedback!

The game looks awesome. Can you please add the option  for credit-card-payment?. I'd like to give you money, but not everyone can use paypal.

Thanks for your comment. We are working on possibility to add credit card payment, but it makes the charity aspect a bit more complex (basically we get double taxation). Curious as to why paypal is not a viable option for you, can you tell us more?
thanks!

Paypal is not available in some countries, like mine (Turkey). :(

Gotcha! I'll get it sorted!

(+1)

Absolutely Stunning both in Graphics and Game Play. The bosses are awesome too. Even in today's standard this is a top title on my list of best C64 games.

Can you please add the PAUSE/UNPAUSE game, assigned to Fire3(potY)?

(1 edit) (+1)

This is a great idea!
it'll go in for version 1.03

it would be great

(+1)

Very difficult, please add easy mode

(+1)(-1)

Sorry but Commodore gaming is for tough gamers. If you want proper "Easy mode"  go and play modern AAA PC /Console games.

(+1)

There is an easy mode!

It's really hard, I wish there was a "noob, only here to enjoy the scenes/music difficulty option", does clearing a world write to the crt on Kungfu automatically? Also just skips past the death screen an all subsequent screens for me on v1 and 1.01.

Version 1.01 should fix that problem, strange you still have it. Could you tell us about your configuration?

(3 edits)

Kungfu on R1 breadbin. Will try 1.02 later. So only normal saves the levels, or did 1.02 fix that? Edit: Saving does not work on Kungfu... when you press Menu it should inform about the change and allow the write... Edit: It works AFTER you die.

Any chance you'd know why the .crt file wont show on my C64 mini when my USB is plugged in? My other .crt files on the same USB show up fine.  Tried it a few times and on different USBs - no difference. So excited to play it.

just plugged into my c64 maxi it seems to work fine on that is the folder you have the crt in got more than 250 files as the mini/maxi has a file limit per folder

Thank you so much, that fixed it (had 576 files). Love this game already.

no problem glad I could help

(+2)

Streamed it this morning, was a truly enjoyable game, wonderful music, gorgeous art, and a tough difficulty that was still fair and manageable.

the security certificate = crt file

Thank you! =)

(+1)

Hello, please provide payment by credit card, as Paypal is not usable in every country. I'm willing to buy the game, but I can't pay by Paypal.

(+3)

Ho aspettato ed è servito! Team Piggy18 siete fenomenali! Grazie per quello che fate!

Ma grazie a te!

(+2)

Started one hour ago...absolutely addicting! Awesome game, full of details, so much effort in it on every aspect. Congratulations, raises again the bar!

(+2)

I'm still in the beginning but I can tell it's a good one !

Thanks.
It gets much better, so keep going ;-)

(+2)

Amazing work Piggy 18 Team! I'll raise my hat to salute you! Please keep up the good work and never abandon C64!

(+1)

Thank you so much, this was a lot of work but comments like this more than repay us!

(+1)

Can I play this on my C64 maxi? What is the format I should order? Thx in anticipation.

(+1)

Yes you can play it on the Maxi, and you need the Digital Download version from this very page.
Mind you, the game saves the progress on the cart eeprom (when playing on Vice, for instance) and we are not sure how the C64 maxi handles that. Of course, that's not a problem because you can obtain the same result with savestates.

(+2)

Thanks Tony, Hobb and team. Well done!

(+2)

Awesome game Antonio !
Happy to support you in everything you do :)

(+3)

Chapeau, Antonio and your Piggy 18 Team. Action, puzzles, atmosphere. Great graphics and awesome tunes.
Thanks guys, you are keeping the retro world turning!

what hardware do i need to play this? I have a Pi1541

(+1)(-1)

That will not work. I would recommend Kung-Fu flash. The game must be ran from cartridge format. Many C64 games are like that now. I would not sell the Pi1541 though. That one is nice for D64 and other files.

(+1)

Schaut doch mal vorbei:

(+1)

Amazing game! I'm stuck at "the garden entrance". Anybody past that screen?

(+1)

Yepp :) Read the scrolling text in the level and you will figure it out.

I'd immediately buy this game - if not for the time restriction... can anybody tell me how much it affects gameplay? I'd really hate to rush through the levels with the countdown as my main enemy.

(+1)

I only completed world 1. There it was no stress. You can hit F1 for Pause.

NOOO!! I was really looking forward to this, I didn't realise there was a time restriction :(

(+2)

Espectacular!!!! Una maravilla a todos los niveles. Enhorabuena!!!!

(2 edits) (+2)

Absolutely stunning game and gameplay!

The graphics is perfect! The soundtrack is 100% hit!

C64 rules forever!

(4 edits)

Accidentally holding UP, UP/LEFT, UP/RIGHT blocks the use of jump in Fire2(potX). Can anything be done about it? It's not just this game, it happens to many C64 games unfortunately

This is not console game.

(1 edit)

The comparison to the console is inaccurate. It's about changing the program, not the device.🙃🙂😉

(+1)

Thanks a lot for this great game. Been waiting a long time for it and it does not disappoint at all :) Made a video playing the game on real C64. Thanks

(+1)

Just bought it... so now it is play time... yay!

(+1)

How long before card option is added please as I don't want to use PayPal?

(+1)

I also wait for Visa pay option.

Does the game work with emulated REU in 1541Ultimate2+?
There is no message that it detects them after starting.

In Vice it detects that REU is "connected".

(+1)

Hi. Unfortunately the 1541Ultimate devices don't support EasyFlash and REU emulation at the same time, so Vice or real HW are your best options. This is a problem with the 1541Ultimate, and there's nothing we can do about it. Anyways, the differences between REU and non-REU are minimal and barely noticeable anyway (just a slightly faster screen rendering).

Thanks for the explanation. Are you planning A Pig Quest 2? 😃

(+4)

just got it - the manual is beautiful and just started the game - it looks amazing

Can you please upload a d64 version? I'd like to try it with my real C64

(+1)

The game is Cart only. This could never run from a floppy disk, it'd need 10 of them :-)
To play on your real C64 you can use an Easyflash, 1541U2 or similar devices.

(+1)

Thanks for your answer, is Kung Fu Flash supported?

(+1)

I play it with a KFF

(+1)

Thanks a lot!!! I'll buy it

(+1)

That's the spirit!

(+1)

Why only pay with PayPal is available? Isn't it possible to pay with my debit card?

(1 edit) (+2)

Everyone, please update to version 1.01 in case you are experiencing problems with the menus.

Thanks for the quick fix! Really enjoying the game, great work!
