Mind you, the game saves the progress on the cart eeprom (when playing on Vice, for instance) and we are not sure how the C64 maxi handles that. Accidentally holding UP, UP/LEFT, UP/RIGHT blocks the use of jump in Fire2(potX). Can anything be done about it? It's not just this game, it happens to many C64 games unfortunately

Hi. Unfortunately the 1541Ultimate devices don't support EasyFlash and REU emulation at the same time, so Vice or real HW are your best options. This is a problem with the 1541Ultimate, and there's nothing we can do about it. Anyways, the differences between REU and non-REU are minimal and barely noticeable anyway (just a slightly faster screen rendering).
The game is Cart only. This could never run from a floppy disk, it'd need 10 of them :-) To play on your real C64 you can use an Easyflash, 1541U2 or similar devices.

Esatto, stessa cosa a me, appena perdo una vita (anche se ne ho altre), viene mostrata una schermata con musica per due secondi, poi il gioco riparte da solo, come se si resettasse, e il pulsante di fuoco fosse in autofire... Provato con C64 Forever e VICE.
Aggiungo un'altro problema, sempre in emulazione, se provo a configurare l'emulatore (C64 o 128) con l'espansione di ram 512KB, l'espansione viene riconosciuta (schermata ingame che lo conferma), ma poi il gioco crasha.
AGGIORNAMENTO: II problema di crash con l'espansione da 512KB si presenta solo con C64 Forever. Con le versioni di VICE sia SDL che GTK, il gioco con espansione funziona.

I only completed world 1. There it was no stress. You can hit F1 for Pause.

Does the game work with emulated REU in 1541Ultimate2+?
There is no message that it detects them after starting.
In Vice it detects that REU is "connected".

It's for Commodore 64. You can run it in windows linux and mac with an emulator, but the game is a Commodore64 game. :-)
